Man, it's getting dark early these days. Here's a little clip I got of a Gar atttacking a Smallmouth Bass down along the shore of the ottawa River last July. Hard to keep the camera steady when all this action is going on. :) lb

Well February is almost done and things are looking fairly good out here in Ottawa's west end. It won't be too long now to be looking for these little beauties in my local back bush. :) lb

Springing into 2023...

Well it's starting to look more like real Spring everyday now. Hanging in one of my hammocks out in the local woods, with the sun in my face and a light breeze donating fresh, clean air, to my lungs. I took a few pictures of the first little Liverleaf plant, with it's dainty white flowers, not six feet from the hammock. Black Squirels scurried through the dry Maple and Oak leaves, that are scattered everywhere, in my little patch of the wilds. Last Saturday my best friend Mark and I drove out of town and headed towards White Lake, with nothing but blue skies in all directions and not a single cloud in sight. We walked into one of our spots where a creek tumbles down a rocky little chute and over a four or five foot waterfall. It's so relaxing there while we eat a bite or three and listen to the rythum of nature's liquid music, only an arms length away. Although we tried, we were still a little too early to catch any fish, of any kind. However, on the way home we stopped at the dam at the end of the lake to take a few casts. Just off shore, on the beach side and moving slowly along parallel to the shore, we spotted three Northern Pike in the three to five pound range. None of them were interested in our lures, but it was cool just to be there to see them starting to do their thing. I guess that's it for today then. I'm going to try to get back in here MORE often. :) lb P.S. Start keeping an eye out for these guys, it won't be long now. :)
